The Historic Dayton House

The Smallwood Suite

Floral wallpaper in soft pinks and greens, plus restful burgundy-toned area rugs, greet visitors in the tastefully appointed Smallwood Suite. Two large antique bureaus boast large mirrors, while a decorative, tile-plated fireplace adds to the room's charm. A queen-sized bed (with small tables on both sides) awaits weary heads, and a full private bathroom features a clawfoot soaking tub with a bookholder/tray and hand-held shower. Surprise - the bath also has in-floor heating. Wake up with a cup of coffee brewed in your in-room, four-cup coffeemaker, and if you've brought your computer, WiFi is free for overnight guests.

The adjoining sitting room (complete with a couch concealing a full-sized, pull-out bed) is a relaxing, quiet space with a TV, large armoire and generously sized closet- plus a separate thermostat.

Both rooms in the Smallwood Suite overlook a tree-filled lot that is the site of the 1918 built Smallwood House (now a private residence); the sleeping room also has views of Fourth Avenue and the Historic Dayton House's sweeping front lawn.
